Understanding Land Impact (Prims)

Every parcel in Second Life includes a Land Impact (LI) allowance, commonly referred to as Prims.

Land Impact determines how many objects your parcel can support. Every item you rez—such as buildings, furniture, landscaping, vehicles, or decorations—uses part of your available Land Impact.

Managing your available LI helps keep your parcel organized and ensures you have enough capacity for future additions.

What Uses Land Impact?

Almost every object placed on your parcel consumes Land Impact, including:

• Houses and buildings

• Furniture

• Trees and landscaping

• Vehicles

• Decorative objects

• Mesh creations

• Scripts and interactive items

The amount of Land Impact used depends on how each object was created.

Checking Your Available Land Impact

You can view your available Land Impact directly from your parcel information in Second Life.

Keeping track of your available LI helps you avoid reaching your parcel limit while planning new additions.
